Clash of Champions Celebrates 10 Years of Ruangguru with Exciting Student Competition

Clash of Champions is a competition show participated by students from various well-known campuses. Produced by Ruangguru, a major learning platform in Indonesia, Clash of Champions airs on Youtube and the Ruangguru app. It premiered two episodes on June 29 and 30, 2024. The game show received one million views in less than 24 hours when it went live on Youtube.

40 students from various top universities in Indonesia were invited to Clash of Champion to participate in a student-to-student intelligence competition. Students who participated in this event have passed the selection from the Ruangguru team. And each student selected by Ruangguru has a lot of achievements.

Clash of Champion Ruangguru is an event held to celebrate Ruangguru's 10 years of existence and to help Indonesian students achieve their academic goals. Clash of Champion Ruangguru was inspired by the South Korean educational game show University War. With a similar concept to University War, Clash of Champion Ruangguru brings together outstanding students from a number of reputable universities in Indonesia to battle it out.

The concept of the show consists of several stages, from the preliminary stage to the final. Each episode there will be some students who do not qualify or fall, and are eliminated from Clash of Champion. The types of competitions tested are very diverse and test the intelligence of each student. Extreme Addition, Shuffle & Recall, Number Chains, Cryptarythm War, and Memory Madness.

Clash of Champion Ruangguru was full of exciting moments. In the first episode of the Extreme Addition game, 10 students were eliminated after passing 3 challenges. However, by the end of the episode, the number of participants increased. The participants increased again and there were 10 Indonesian students from overseas universities.

The strategies used by Clash of Champion participants were also very interesting. Such as changing playing card icons into numbers, predicting questions that will come out, making a story, doing questions that look for one letter, and other strategies.

Clash of Champion has already released 5 episodes and received a lot of positive responses from every viewer. Viewers who are also students are motivated to do their college assignments, school children who are more enthusiastic about reaching their chosen university, and parents who are motivated to parenting their children about the importance of education.

In the middle of the show there were negative comments made by netizens. These comments refer to the theme of the event, the challenges played, to the privacy of the participants.

One of the Clash of Champions participants became a victim of malicious comments from netizens who cornered him while playing a drama, as a result of this the participant's mentality was disturbed and could not be himself. Not only that, but another participant also had his privacy violated by having his phone number searched on social media accounts. In other cases, netizens often ask how the participants are doing but not on the participants' social media platforms. Also, comments that said that Clash of Champions did not represent the social sciences (social and humanities).

However, despite the many negative comments from netizens about this event. Ruangguru succeeded in making the Clash of Champions event enjoyed by many audiences, especially to increase the motivation of Indonesian children to learn. Not only students who can learn new lessons, but also parents who are motivated to pass on education to their children.
